For the Love of Trees

I’m Sue O’Sullivan and I was born in London and now live in Wiltshire.

I am a self-taught artist painting mainly in acrylics. I like to experiment with texture and use a variety of tools to apply paint or create different effects. My love of impressionism has influenced my work and my travels have taken me to some beautiful places which have inspired much of my art.

I have a passion for trees and when I came across a stunning photo of Eucalyptus trees in the snow on the Instagram feed of the Melbourne Arboretum, I knew it would make an amazing painting. The trees have stunning bark with so much texture and colour!

I approached the Arboretum to see if I could create a painting for them after reading about their vision.. They managed to contact the photographer who very kindly gave permission for me to use her photo, and so the painting journey begins.

I look forward to sharing the progress of my work with you.

(Upon completion - Sue’s painting will be up for sale, with all proceeds supporting trees in the Melbourne Arboretum! Stay tuned for updates. Image - ‘Eucalypts in the Snow - Dargo High Plains’ by Carin Poeschel-Livingstone)
